When to use

What to provide

How to work through it

  1. Restate the accumulated mandate in one compact sentence, carrying forward every criterion from earlier in the conversation. Treat omitted criteria as unconstrained rather than asking for them.
  2. Make conservative assumptions where terminology is imprecise, state them in one short line, and proceed. Ask a clarifying question only when neither a sector/product nor a geography can be inferred at all.
  3. Build a candidate universe from what the user provides and what you can reason about, prioritizing primary evidence: company sites, registries, filings, credible databases; use news/profiles as support.
  4. Private-company revenue, EBITDA, and ownership are often unavailable — never invent them. Label every value as disclosed, estimated, proxy-derived, or not publicly disclosed. Where exact size is unknown, use transparent proxies (employee count, customer count, funding, filing revenue, product footprint).
  5. Return the best available matches even if fewer than requested meet every criterion; explain the evidence gap rather than restarting.
  6. Present as a table: Company | Country | Product / vertical | Size evidence | Ownership evidence | Fit | Why it fits | Sources. Rank by fit. Distinguish confirmed from probable/possible matches, and flag founder-, family-, sponsor-backed, public, or acquired status where evidence exists. Add Assumptions and gaps and the 1-3 highest-value next diligence steps. Use the user's reporting currency (default €).
